National Guard

The National Guard will have 2 roles. The first is to protect the nation from would be hostile forces. This will allow for jet, Missiles, and tanks. The National Guard is a defense only force, and will not leave the nation to fight in another country. The keyword to National Guard is “National”. The second is to protect from bad actors within. This will include law enforcement and counter terrorism efforts. Yes, the National Guard will be in charge of the police force. The idea behind that is there will be a uniformed way of training officers, and with the military discipline, they will likely not let person biases get in the way of their role as a protector.

The National Guard as the name implies – guards the nation. There will also be drones that would fly in the nation, and large enough to carry missiles. If there is an invading force, then the drone will partially take the place of aircraft. The goal will be to build national drones to reduce the dependance on another nation for defense, and will also create aircraft sized drones which to the best of my knowledge is not very prevalent.

The National Guard will also be emergency response services and police. This might be appalling to some countries that feels these services should be civilian control, but the problem with that is every community will do things differently, and there will be no uniformed system. With the civilian services being under the control of the National Guard, a unified standard can be done. This will include in training fire personnel, medics, and police. Also, SWAT will make even more sense in this role due to their need of training in specialized weapons, and tactics.

As law enforcement, the National Guard officer will carry a body camera, taser, tonfa, and handgun. The handgun will have a biometric fingerprint reader on it to assure that only the person the weapon is registered to can fire the weapon. This assures that a bad actor that acquires the gun from the officer will not be able to use it on them. The National Guard will also act as security for government buildings, and airports.

Assuming that the Nation of Kaldus has a domestic auto manufacturer (such as KAA), then the automobiles from that manufacturer will be preferred. If there isn’t a domestic manufacturer that meets the needs of the National Guard’s Emergency Services, then they will have to import base vehicles, and configure them from the ground up. This will involve more work, so there will be a push for a domestic auto manufacturer. For air flight, there will be the Airbus H225 which is a heavy helicopter that would be used for transporting, and moving people around in the country at relatively quick speeds.
